The Premier Soccer League (PSL) have found Orlando Pirates guilty of contravening the DSL rules following the unruly behavior of the spectators in a clash with Mamelodi Sundowns.
Early this year, a match at Loftys Stadium became a disaster. Fans invaded the soccer field during Pirates and Sundowns match, which resulted in Pirates’ defeat to Sundowns.
PSL released a statement today saying “The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has issued it’s ruling on the matter involving Orlando Pirates and the spectator misbehavior”.
The league charged Pirates following acts of hooliganism by a section of supporters during the Premiership fixture between Orlando Pirates & Mamelodi Sundowns on 11 February 2017, where the fans were all over the pitch quarreling. No sanction has been imposed on the Baccaneers just yet.
Sundowns case is to be heard January 2018.
