Hundreds of securities working for money transportation sector including G4S,Fidelity and SBV took over the streets of Johannesburg to submit their memorandum to different departments which include Safety and security,Justice,Transport,Governor of the reserve bank and metro police to address the issues that their facing as workers whom transport money to different locations,they said they fear for their lives when transporting money to various places around the country .’we don’t know what might happen while working’ said one of the workers even in the morning when I leave home I am don’t know if I’ll come back to my wife and kids he add.
The workers demand sirens,blue-lights and safe parking while their on duty.They also want house allowance,danger allowance and medical aid as at the moment they don’t receive such as their working Benefits. Cash van security guards say there will be no money in ATMs or at banks if they are not protected.
This memorandum by cash-in-transit guards doesn't talk to occupational well-being of the guards. They demand sirens, blue-lights & safe parking areas. No housing & danger allowance. No medical aid.
